That translated page cracks me up! Translation software has a LONG way to go. As my man 'digger' put it:
Quote:
The chassis seems more house Mans foods to be
Interestingly, the diamond!
The more I see on this truck, the more I like!

Somebody on Tamiyaclub said it was "definitely" lexan. Whether they are just assuming that by the looks of it, or they know something we don't is beyond me. Guess we'll find out Thursday.

We'll see more pictures, and hear details once Thursday rolls around.

At least being a Tamiya it'll be out for a while

I certainly hope so, if that's the case, maybe they'll put the price in a position to compete.

Really hoping this doesn't end up being a 300 dollar kit when it hits the online shops, that wouldn't be fun.

This truck is looking so sweet. Don't know why everyone has to find the negatives in everything. I'm looking forward to the new chassis, axles, transmission, body, etc

Projects galore

These are going to sell so fast. I hope Tamiya America ordered enough of them.

the only negative I see is I can't get a 2 for 1 deal

I have money set aside now after selling a ax10 and a highlift so this is a done deal me getting it.

I think this is as close as we're going to get to a real confirmation from Tamiya until they actually tell us about it tomorrow.

Thumbs up

From RC Driver:

Tamiya Item Number: 58405

About the model:
1/10 scale Toyota Land Cruiser 40
New CR-01 dedicated crawler chassis features heavy-duty ladder frame with aluminum main chassis rails and plastic cross members.
Lexan body with separately molded mirrors, turn signals and front grille (yeah, that's not a photo-realistic decal)

Comes standard with 2.2 three piece beadlock wheels
Coil spring suspension
Aluminum suspension arms
Axle mounted steering servo
Centrally located planetary gearbox with 40.5:1 final gear ratio
540 type motor included

The planetary gearbox is very trick. I'm sure there are going be zillions of scale trucks built around that thing in the coming year.

Looks cool on the video. I must say. Tamiya will sell loads of this CR01 just for all the endless scale and crawling projects.
