Well, RC Ave Raceway is now closed. The good news is that the track is still open! It's new name is RC Alley.
The place looks the same as it did and everything is still pretty much the same as it was, except the open days. The track will be open every Wednesday night for practice from 5PM to 8:30PM. Cost is $2/hour or $5 for the whole evening, like before. The track will also be open every Friday night for racing. Doors will be open by 5:30 PM and racing usually starts by 7:30. Cost will be the same; $10 for the first class, $5 for every class after that. I will run any class that has 3 or more entries(sometimes even just 2 or more if there aren't too many other classes). If there are 4 or more people in your class the A-Main winner gets their choice of either a trophy or a certificate good for one free entry. This should all sound familiar to the locals. The change is that the track will be closed on weekends except for special events or work days(or possibly a chopper day occasionally on sundays) and the payout had to go away. The closest local hobby shops have recently closed, now the closest shop is New Stanton, Delmont, or Connellsville, but there IS going to be excellent parts/hopup support on site. There will even be cars/kits available occasionally! Plus on the rare occasion that the part you need is not available from the on-site support, I will empty my spare parts bin to help! My goal is to keep the doors open hopefully at least through Winter Monster Bash in January. To do this, I am going to need some help. At the very least, I need to generate enough funding to cover rent. To that end I have come to ask for some support. I have come up with a couple membership ideas that should help. If anyone is interested in a membership in the track, here's what I had in mind: for $20 a month you get your choice of free practice nights for that month or free second vehicle race entry on all race nights that month. For $40 a month you get both free practice nights and free second vehicle race entry for the whole month. I also want to offer a Monster Truck membership package especially for those of you that come up for the big weekend long monster events. I haven't yet figured out what to offer for that one, though. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm all ears! LOL! Also anyone wishing to make a donation to help keep the doors open, please contact me! We need all the help we can get! My email is SnakebiteEMS at Hotmail.com Soon I hope to announce a kick-off race night to start the season off right and get some racers through the doors. Anyone wishing to come stay tuned for info!

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I'm thinking of having a helicopter night every now and then specifically for smaller electric choppers like the E-Flight Blades and similar. I know there are a few of you out there with electric choppers and the track is the perfect place to play with them. I recently got a CX2 and probably 90% of it's flights have been there. There is no wind indoors and plenty of room. Anybody out there interested in chopper night? Let me know and I'll pick a night we can all get together.

great news
When the next batch of decals comes in I'll send some for the track. I'd also like to have somebody take video and send me the disks or tapes so I can copy into my pc and put up on here for people to see the action. |

Tonight we actually had a few come for practice and from what they say there should be a decent monster truck turnout for racing this friday. I don't know if I can predict anything else, but from what they say there should at the very least be a full 2wd monster class, possibly emaxx as well. I know a few of them have 2wd trucks, too, so maybe if enough show there will be a class for them , too. Any locals that wanna come race, this friday looks like a good night to start!
Oh, and one small change to the schedule: Wednesday night the doors will be open at 5PM until 8:30PM. Everything else stays the same, Friday night the doors will open around 5:30, racing starts around 7:30PM and runs until we're done. I hope to see some of you there!

Speed, I'll be happy if it survives for WMB! LOL!
Tonight was a pretty good night. It was the first race night since I took over that had enough people show for 3 full classes. We had 2wd truck, 2wd Monster and Emaxx classes. Now if I can get the oval guys to start showing up again, this might actually work.

That's fine, John. If enough people show up for it, I'll run it! LOL! By oval guys, I meant the pan cars and such. I guess 2wd truck counts, too since they run oval with jumps...

Now there has been 2 weeks in a row that have had enough people show for some races. Things are starting to look up. My equiptment has been working well so far(laptop, printer, etc...) and I have had a chance to start making small improvements here and there to the building. This past friday night saw our on-sight hobby shop going full force as well as some new faces getting into the electric choppers. The possibility of a chopper night is getting stronger and stronger as there's now at least 6 of them locally owned by track regulars. Who knows, maybe down the road there be a Chopper Jam weekend! LOL!
Anyways, I have made a good start towards making rent, but still have a ways to go yet to be out of the woods and into the clear so to speak. If anyone would like to help out, it would be greatly appreciated and WILL be remembered! The membership options outlined above are still available and I'm even set up to accept donations via paypal if needed. Every little bit helps and will help ensure that the place is still open come January's Winter Monster Bash. You can contact me at SnakebiteEMS@hotmail.com Thanks!

The snack bar has had some growth. In addition to the candy bars and soda, now there's chips and microwave popcorn added to the menu. If things keep growing, the menu will expand.
Has anyone come up with any ideas for a Winter Monster Bash membership package? I'm still trying to figure something out to offer, on top of the traditional RCMT member discount. I'm all ears!
