As mentioned above, Lipo batteries are being allowed at this event. There are rules covering several areas that must be followed. These rules are straight from ROAR and we are using them word for word. Two areas we will not budge on are these:
---Battery manufacturer
---Battery charging bags
Here is the list of ROAR approved Lipo batteries:
http://www.roarracing.com/approvals/lipobattery.php

It is critical that ALL Lipos used be in their factory hard cases. Batteries not in a hard case will not be permitted to run.

It is VERY important that any Lipo you intend to use at this event only be a 2-cell Lipo. Anything over that will not be allowed. If you run an unapproved Lipo battery that does meet the standards we have posted, the truck it runs in will be DQ'd for the class it is racing in. Safety is paramount and we will not budge on that.

Here is the list of approved charging bags:
--Common Sense Lipo bag
--Racers Edge Lipo Bag
--K&S Lipo bag
--WoodWorks Lipo Sack
--MaxAmps Lipo sack

All racing classes are open for Lipo usage.

If you would like to read more about the rules establised by ROAR, please follow this link: http://www.roarracing.com/rules.php Pages 34 - 37 cover our needs.

Please check back as there are some major rule changes taking effect for this event. All tire rules are going to see some changes for most of the classes. I just wanted to get the topic posted with a date for everybody to see. We will be adopting the NRCTPA tire rules for the majority of the classes so that's as big a heads-up as I can give for right now.

Trophy trucks.........
The 2WD class will be one class only. Our tracks are so tight that stock and mod make no real difference in the outcome so both will be run together.

If the new 4WD trucks show up for this event, they will have a class of their own.

We are looking into some great sponsors this time around so keep checking back for that info too. The WMB events we hold are great events and I expect this one to be no different. So, we hope to see everybody back and hope to see new racers show up for this event as well.

According to the specs, 2.2 claw dawgs are 4" in diameter, which would make them legal, right? I don't have any myself to check... lol

Claw Dawgs are totally legal for Conversion. Claw Dawgs are appx 4 1/8" tall. Believe me Nick, I would not endorse a rule that would ban Claw Dawgs from all 2.2 classes seeing as how I run them too LOL!!!

I just went and re-measured the Claw Dawgs again and they are 4 1/8" tall.........more than legal. I don't have to look at stock Pede tires to know they are even taller than that because they are.

The rules that are now being used for Stock and Mod Pede and Conversion are identical to the NRCTPA tire rules for 2WD Stock Tuff Truck.

just measured - my tires are just over 4, lunchbox/pumpkin tires are 4 3/8.

also, how are we to measure? with the truck at ride height? or with the tire off the truck? it can make up to a quarter inch difference in tires without foams.

also, i know this will come up with some of the local guys - what constitutes a spiked tire? goosebumps are a popular choice and they do have pins on top of bars. step pins are used a lot too . . . . . . .

The letter of the law says 4" tall or taller. It says nothing about whether they are on a truck or not. The no spike rule is for the thick, tall spikes that can mess with the "nap" of the carpet, that's all. Otherwise tread design doesn't matter now, as long as it doesn't damage the carpet. Understand? The friday guys are already used to that idea about the spikes... Bowties and similar don't harm the carpet...

I agree with running stock and mod throphy trucks together. Me and Neil just had this discussion. The track doesn't allow a super fast motor to have an advantage. This holds true for all the classes. Driving skill is what it takes to win.

I think that a good reason to keep stock/mod classes is that some people run a truck in both. I for one have 2 Pedes that I race for example. Others have 2 Clods or 2 Slash's or two whatever. Just something else to think about

Nick, only trophy truck is being combined. There will still be a stock and mod pede class as well as all the other classes we've always had.

The Stock vs Mod comparison is very true. Our tracks usually even out of the differences between stock and mod but like you said Nick, some have more than one truck of the same type and so it is good to split them. If trophy truck gets that big, maybe do a trophy truck I and II like we do with Modified Clod. Something to consider anyway.
