e-savage vs. e-zilla vs. e-maxx

I've become really obessed with the e-savage. I really want to get one after I get my nitro savage. I would like some oppinions about them. But which would be better the savage, maxx, or zilla? I'm also interested in what the turns on the motors are? and how long of a battery life these trucks have.

I have a buddy that is in love with the new e-maxx, but I want to one up him.

I'm probobly going to get rid on my Losi Mini Slider to help pay for the E-savage. (who knows maybe I'll finish my sniper clod soon.)

I would go E Maxx, But now a days you can E just about anything. There are plenty of conversions out there available. Heck you want to out do him! Get a REVO rolling chassis on ebay and build a conversion. One good motor and an ESC and youll be kicking his butt and alot of butts on a nitro track! Brushless is the way to go though and Ohh one more thing throw a VXL in that emaxx and youll make some waves if that is the route you want to go as well.

E-Sav is the evolution of the Zilla. Slightly stronger uprights and stuff. If you find a new Zilla somewhere, you'll be lucky. It was replaced a year or two ago.

I have had both. The HPI is slightly smaller, but is a LOT stronger.
The Maxx needs money sunk into it straight away. Alloy bulkheads, CVDs.

Also, the Sav, though it's single speed, has about 4 mph on the Maxx, and it's about half a kilo lighter. The HPI radio also feels nicer, and has steering rate adjustment.

The suspension on the Maxx feels nicer, but is very rolly and wallowy. You can get a Sav around a track faster, for sure, if you can resist dropping the hammer and wheelstanding past the corner.


The Sav is like a British Bulldog on Redbull. Tough, solid little ball of gristle, that will try to flip onto it'd back when ever it can.

I'm trying to steer away from brushless if I have to. I'll probobly end up getting the GT truck version. I'm not a fan of the qud body or the beetle body.

imho, the savage is the most durable rc anything ever. when rpm doesn't make parts for a truck cause the stock o nes don't break, that tells me something. i had a 25 rtr a few years ago, and it was brutal. don't bother trying to race with one, but for bashing, nothing is better. the 6 foot drop check gag still amazes me. but i'll never have another nitro. too much hassle.

i've had both an e-savage (which was actually an e-zilla put into an hpi box - all the logos on the truck are hb) and an e-maxx and i still have my e-savage to this day. simply put, the truck is much more capable with much less cost, and is more durable as well. the only parts rpm makes for the e-savage are the rear bumper mounts that moves the esc switch up a bit. the arms that rpm makes for the savage will work on the new flux, but not on the e-savage.
